Background
The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) is at the forefront of contemporary governance education in Australia. It is a membership organization with over 50,000 active members who are aspiring, current, or retired company directors. The AICD’s main product offering is programs and courses on the theory of corporate governance and how to apply it in practice across different sectors and industries.
My role
My role sits within an agile delivery squad, overlooking all digital Member & Clients product offerings. My BAU work revolves around two key areas:
Digital product design - improving our websites UX/UI experiences
Service design - discovery around understanding our current members experience through Quantitative and Qualitative means.

Building the Product Design practice at AICD
Improving the Member Experience at AICD
- Ambassador of HCD & Product design in the organization
- Run internal HCD workshops and learning articles to upskill over 70 colleagues
- Establishing Product Design Op’s and team cadence; Design Reviews, Community of Practice, etc.
- Implement new ways of workings between Product Designers and the organisation

Remediation of legacy design files and creation of a new design system
Improving the Member Experience at AICD
- First primary Member research in the organisation over 40+ interviews conducted
- Develop web accessibility WCAG best practices onto web experiences aiming at AA/AAA standards
- Bring to life the voice of the customer through interviews, surveys, and workshops insights
- Led the end-to-end product design process, from conceptualisation to final implementation, for various digital product experiences.
